How many times have you started off with great intentions to use your planner to help you stay organized; only to find yourself three or four weeks later struggling to get back on track? If you can see yourself in this statement, I have found some planner tips that can help you stay on track.
- Set a certain time every week to plan out your next week or your month. (Make a habit of planning at the same time.)
- Designate a location. (Have a certain location that your planner will be.)
- Keep your planner visible and open. (Seeing your planner will help you to be accountable.)
- Look at your planner. (Looking at your planner often helps you know what tasks need to be done.)
- Carry it with you if you are on the go. (Have your planner with you to write things down when you think of them.)
- Write everything down. (Get it out of your head and on paper.)
- Note only what is important to you. (Don’t sweat the small stuff that isn’t important.)
- Make changes and tweaks as you go through your week. (It is a work in progress so adjust as needed.)
- Be realistic in your tasks and timeline. (Know your limitations and don’t try to be superwoman.)
- Don’t stress about filling it up. (It’s okay to have empty space.)
- Use check marks to check things off your list. (Marking tasks off your planner list actually encourages the task to get completed.)
- Use color coded categories. (Colors can help with tasks of importance.)
- Circle or highlight the priorities. (Having the priorities stand out helps complete those tasks first.)
- Personalize it. (Make the planner yours with your style and decoration.)
- Don’t give up. (Tomorrow is a new day if you find yourself slacking off.)
Sometimes having a planner can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you are trying to do it all. Hopefully these planner tips will help you stay on track for your happy planning.
